CHLOÉ-LOVE STORY EDP
eau de parfum
One of the most amusing things when scouting around for new aromatic creations, is when I come across a fragrance with a name so plain, it actually reveals its main notes. I adore this old-fashioned fragrance naming, originating in the days when the commercialization of perfumery began. This same feeling hit me when I discovered Jacinthe&Rose (Hyacinth&Rose) of E.Coudray. Judging by the hierarchy I thought this was going to be a Hyacinth centered fragrance, but you can’t “judge a book by its cover”, right?
E.Coudray Jacinthe&Rose opens up all floral and soft, powdery like old-fashioned soap, with its radiating first current sprinkled with the velvety fruitiness of peach and the mildly cool, slightly bitter, citrusy bigarade note. This first level is actually more floral than fruity, as I expected, it is warm and cool at the same time with a main feature of creamy softness.
Rose and Jasmine seem to steal the show, being on top of every other note, but the Rose note is one very subtle, definitely not strong and thick like the Bulgarian Rose absolute which can become heady. The contribution of Orange Blossom is limiting the rose-y feel, even so Rose holds the reins for quite a while, making it difficult to distinguish any other flower hidden in the fragrant liquid. After a while a mysterious oriental veil of jasmine and ylang-ylang appears.
The woods are gloriously resting on the base of Jacinthe&Rose, narrowing their strong qualities, they simply cuddle with vanilla, expanding the floral accord and creating an original aroma.
E.Coudray Jacinthe&Rose is a vintage -but not at all outdated-, classy feminine eau de toilette, with a childish nature which could be perfect for boosting your mood on a chill autumn morning, or you can simply wear it any moment you want a whiff of fairytale in your routine.
