PERFUME REVIEW: BONBON EAU DE PARFUM

Viktor&Rolf Bonbon

Bonbon eau de parfum from Viktor&Rolf launched in 2014 packed in a stunning deep pink bow-shaped bottle crafted by the french brand Pochet du Courval. The bottle itself is a masterpiece of elegance, a nice bonus for my collection.

The perfume is a lovely caramel sonata, and to me it seems like the whole scent is wrapped around a sweet, bright, syrupy core, slowly unfolding, effusing all kinds of caramel tones, just like a radiant caramel planet. Bonbon eau de parfum is definitely candy themed, with fruity nuances of velvety peach note, very girly and uplifting.

This aromatic tribute to caramel has a delicious perfume heart that becomes thinner with jasmine and orange blossom notes, while its deep, cozy sweetness stands firm. The combination of jasmine and orange blossom adds a floral layer only to give it a more contemporary aspect.

The dry down is creamier, more full and warm with luxurious details that make it irresistible, and last but not least the wood notes produce a sophisticated facet to caramel without stealing the show or making the perfume too thick.

Viktor&Rolf Bonbon is not my summer scent but is definitely what I choose to wear to cheer up on a cloudy day. Its strength is limited enough not to give you a headache, and its sillage and longevity are satisfying.
